Valve Groups

A Sprinkler Valve Group can be contained within a heavy duty plastic lockable box, or simply mounted on a board/wall, depending on the location of the Valve Group. The valve group consists of:

valve group box

  • Mains Water Inlet: size depending on the flow rate required by the system.
  • Backflow Prevention Valve: ensures that water can not flow back into the mains water supply
  • Sprinkler Isolation Valve: Isolates water to the system.
  • Flow Switch: When a sprinkler is activated the flow of water operates a flow switch which then sends an electrical signal to the alarm control panel, see ‘Sprinkler Alarms’ page.
  • Pressure Gauge: Measures the incoming water pressure.
  • Drain & Test Valve: Used to drain and test the system.
