Dry Riser Maintenance
British Standard 9990 states the dry riser system shall be inspected every six months, including: inlets, landing valves, drain valves, door hinges and locking arrangements to the inlet and landing valve boxes.
Careful inspection should be made to all valves, spindles, glands and washers to ensure that they are in satisfactory condition, so that all equipment is ready for immediate use.
Annually, it is recommended that wet tests be carried out to checked for leaks.
